XPO Logistics Pioneers Sustainable Solutions with Electric-Powered Vehicle Deployment

London, 26 March 2024 – XPO, a prominent provider of sustainable logistics solutions throughout Europe, has successfully introduced hydrotreated vegetable oil (HVO) and electric-powered vehicles into its 4PL and transport control tower operations. This represents a significant milestone in sustainability within the industry.
The trials of HVO and electric-powered vehicles were initially conducted on test routes covering nearly 3,000 miles in the UK and Ireland, resulting in a reduction of over 4,000 kgCO2e in emissions. This initiative aligns with XPO’s broader decarbonisation strategy, which emphasizes the use of alternative fuels as well as the introduction of newer low- and zero-emission vehicles into the market.
