XPO, a top provider of logistics solutions in Europe, has announced an upgrade to its maternity benefits for employees in the UK. The company, known for its innovative and sustainable approach, is enhancing its family policies to better support soon-to-be and new parents.

Employees at XPO in the UK, including those who adopt children, will now receive enhanced maternity pay after two years of service. This includes significant increases in pay benefits:
– The first six weeks of maternity leave will be paid at 90% of their weekly average earnings.
– The following 20 weeks will be paid at 80% of their basic pay + allowances.
– The remaining 13 weeks will be paid at the government statutory rate or 90% of their average weekly earnings, whichever is lower.

This new policy ensures that employees receive more financial support during their maternity leave, helping alleviate financial concerns during this crucial time. Advocacy organizations such as Unison and Maternity Action have been pushing for an increase in the current Statutory Maternity Pay to £364.70.

Lynn Brown, vice-president of human resources for the UK and Ireland at XPO Logistics, expressed pride in the company’s leadership in maternity and adoption pay, as well as other family-friendly policies. XPO Logistics is committed to creating an inclusive work environment that supports employees during significant milestones in their lives.
