Uber Freight Struggles to Achieve Positive EBITDA

Uber Freight is facing challenges in achieving positive EBITDA, with its quarterly revenue hitting a new low since acquiring Transplace. Despite a negative EBITDA of $12 million, this is an improvement from previous quarters. Revenue for Uber Freight in the second quarter of 2024 was $1.273 billion, slightly lower than the previous year. The company attributes this to an increase in loads but a decrease in revenue per load due to market conditions. The acquisition of Transplace has transformed Uber Freight into a digital brokerage and a transportation management system. The company highlighted successes such as the adoption of Uber Freight Exchange and the launch of Premier Autonomy. Additionally, Uber Freight is expanding its operations in Mexico. Despite facing challenges, Uber Freight remains focused on business stability and growth.
