“SAS Awards WFS Cargo Handling Contract at Boston Airport”

Scandinavian Airlines (SAS) has recently awarded a cargo handling contract to Worldwide Flight Services (WFS) at their fourth major airport gateway in North America. This three-year agreement will allow WFS, a member of SATS Group, to handle cargo on SAS flights to and from Boston. SAS now operates daily Airbus A350 flights between Boston and Copenhagen, Denmark.

WFS anticipates handling more than 8 million kilograms of cargo per year on SAS’s Boston operations, including a significant amount of perishable goods. Boston now joins Los Angeles, New York JFK, and San Francisco as U.S. airports where WFS and SAS have established a successful partnership.

Timothy Coggswell, VP Cargo – North East Region at WFS, stated, “Boston is a key airport gateway for WFS and SAS in North America. Our commitment to providing high service standards for SAS’s customers, combined with our proven track record of success at other major U.S. airports, has led to this opportunity to expand our partnership.”

Since establishing operations in Boston in 2010, WFS now operates two cargo terminals at Logan International Airport, offering over 70,000 square feet of cargo handling space. These facilities process more than 57,000 tonnes of cargo annually for WFS’s 14 airline customers in Boston.
