“Russell Railroad Acquires Coatbridge Terminal from Freightliner, Ensuring Smooth Intermodal Services”

Freightliner has officially announced on the 13th of April 2024 that ownership of the Coatbridge terminal has been transferred to Russell Railroad Limited, a subsidiary of John G Russell, with immediate effect.
After a thorough evaluation of the Freightliner Coatbridge terminal, it was concluded that the facility would be better managed under new ownership. Despite the change in ownership, Freightliner rail services will continue to operate as normal at the Coatbridge terminal.
Chris Lawrenson, Managing Director of Intermodal Logistics at Freightliner UK/Europe, expressed his excitement about working with the team at Russell Railroad Ltd. He emphasized the importance of the Coatbridge terminal in maintaining efficient Intermodal connections in Scotland, and believes that Russell Railroad’s ownership will ensure the seamless operation of these services. He also mentioned the anticipation of a successful partnership in serving the Scottish Intermodal market.
