The Pérez Torres Marítima terminal in the port of La Coruña, Spain has recently introduced a new LHM 550 crane into operation. This 70m high unit, weighing 500 tonnes, is the second of its kind acquired by the company and represents a €3M investment. With a maximum lifting capacity of 144 tonnes and a maximum outreach of 48m, the crane was transported from Rostock on a Meriaura Oy flat top ro-ro vessel in an erect position. Pérez Torres Marítima, a major operator at Punta Langosteira, handles a variety of cargo including clinker, coke, cereals, and project cargo on their two concessions covering a combined area of 45,000 m². They have recently expanded their operations to include large dry bulk cargo shipments from around the world for transhipment to ports in northern Europe.
