“MSC Air Cargo Joins Cool Chain Association for Global Innovation”

Luxembourg, Tuesday 26th March 2024: The Cool Chain Association (CCA) is pleased to announce the addition of MSC Air Cargo to its membership. The CCA is a group of companies collaborating to enhance the temperature-controlled supply chain, with a focus on reducing food loss and improving the pharmaceuticals supply chain.

Recently, the CCA launched a best practice video for perishables, drawing on insights from trials conducted by the Perishable Products Export Control Board (PPECB), a CCA Board member. The Association plans to expand similar trials to the pharmaceutical sector in the near future.

Joern Roehl, Head of Products, Quality and Transformation at MSC Air Cargo, expressed the company’s commitment to working with industry leaders to tackle challenges and drive innovation in the cold chain. MSC Mediterranean Shipping Company, MSC Air Cargo’s parent company, is a global transportation and logistics leader with a vast network spanning 155 countries and almost 200,000 employees.

Stavros Evangelakakis, Chairman of CCA and Head of Global Healthcare at Cargolux, highlighted the valuable expertise that MSC Air Cargo brings to the table in advancing the goals of the Association. The CCA looks forward to the upcoming meeting in Luxembourg in April, where new Board members will be elected.

Overall, the CCA is dedicated to fostering collaboration and innovation in the temperature-controlled supply chain, and MSC Air Cargo’s involvement will further contribute to these efforts.
