Kenco, a third-party logistics provider, has announced the acquisition of The Shippers Group, a regional warehousing provider. The deal will add 3.8 million square feet of space to Kenco’s network, expanding its reach and capabilities.

Established in 1901, The Shippers Group is based in Dallas and offers warehousing, co-packaging, and fulfillment services from eight facilities in Florida, Georgia, and Texas. This acquisition will increase Kenco’s distribution sites to over 100 and provide additional transportation capacity.

The terms of the transaction have not been disclosed. Kenco’s CEO, Denis Reilly, highlighted the benefits of the acquisition, stating that it will enhance their suite of capabilities and enable them to better serve customers in key growth markets.

Kenco, headquartered in Chattanooga, Tennessee, offers a range of supply chain services in addition to warehousing, including freight brokerage, transportation management, and dedicated contract carriage. With this acquisition, Kenco now operates more than 40 million square feet of space.

Last year, private equity firm Pritzker Group acquired a majority stake in Kenco. The President of The Shippers Group, Rob Doyle, expressed confidence in the partnership with Kenco and emphasized the opportunity to leverage Kenco’s operating systems to benefit customers.

Graham Swank, CEO of The Shippers Group, was listed as the majority owner of the operation. The acquisition marks a significant moment in The Shippers Group’s journey towards optimizing supply chains for their customers.
