ICL and FreshLinc Enhance UK Airfreight Collaboration

Nick Finbow, perishables sales director at ICL, and Lee Juniper, CEO of Freshlinc, are shown in a photo together. ICL, a London-based forwarder, has enhanced its temperature-controlled airfreight capabilities through a new partnership with Freshlinc, a UK company. The collaboration, which builds upon their existing work in seafreight container transport, will now include final-mile delivery for UK airfreight. The collaboration will utilize the FreshLinc cold chain storage facility in Spalding, Lincolnshire, which will also serve as a customs clearance point to streamline operations.

“This collaboration with Freshlinc is a significant expansion for ICL, especially following the recent opening of our new Rotterdam office,” said Nick Finbow. “This aligns with our growth plans and will enhance our ability to offer high-quality logistics services from our Heathrow site for perishables clients. Further enhancements to our cold chain solutions are planned for later this year at our Heathrow location, including facility expansions and upgrades.”

Freshlinc, established in 1996, offers storage and logistics solutions across the UK and Europe through a network of distribution depots. Lee Juniper, CEO of Freshlinc, noted that the partnership with ICL will provide an efficient and reliable route to market by combining ICL’s expertise with Freshlinc’s nationwide coverage. The companies have established control points in Spalding, with one specializing in temperature-controlled goods, offering clients like ICL the opportunity to clear products closer to the point of discharge for fresher products entering the food chain.

ICL, based at Heathrow Airport, has recently opened a new office in Rotterdam as part of its expansion plan to enhance perishables operations in Europe.
