IAG Cargo Launches New Barcelona-Miami Route

IAG Cargo Introduces New Barcelona to Miami Service

IAG Cargo, the cargo division of International Airlines Group (IAG), has announced the launch of a new service between Barcelona and Miami. Beginning on March 31st, 2024, flights will operate up to three times a week, increasing to four services from June to September.

Barcelona serves as one of IAG Cargo’s key hubs, alongside London Heathrow, Madrid, and Dublin, and is home to LEVEL and Vueling airlines. With the addition of Miami, Barcelona now offers direct connections to five cities in the United States, including Boston, Los Angeles, New York’s JFK, and San Francisco. This new route further strengthens the almost 200 weekly connections between Spain and the United States, positioning Barcelona as a crucial link between the two regions.

Miami, known as the world’s largest gateway to Latin America and the Caribbean, facilitates two-way cargo traffic between the Americas and Europe. As a hub for perishable products, hi-tech commodities, textiles, pharmaceuticals, and more, Miami plays a vital role in global trade. The launch of this new service is made possible by the addition of a sixth aircraft to LEVEL’s fleet.

Camilo Garcia Cervera, Chief Sales and Marketing Officer at IAG Cargo, expressed, “The transatlantic corridor is a crucial part of our network and serves many of our customers. Miami is a key logistics hub for air freight, and with our established network connecting major cities in the United States and Europe, this new route will further enhance our connectivity.” Additionally, IAG Cargo will resume services between Barcelona and San Francisco with four weekly frequencies from March 31st.
