“Etihad Cargo Fully Prepared for UAE PLACI Regulations”

Etihad Cargo is fully prepared for the implementation of the UAE Pre-Loading Advance Cargo Information (PLACI) regulations, ensuring smooth operations for partners and customers. The National Advance Information Centre (NAIC) under the Federal Authority for Identity, Citizenship, Customs & Port Security is the first to implement PLACI outside North America and Europe. Etihad Cargo, as a pilot carrier in the UAE’s PLACI initiative, has integrated PLACI standards into its operations and is ready to meet the new requirements efficiently.

Etihad Cargo, the cargo and logistics arm of Etihad Airways, is committed to the security and safety of air cargo through PLACI. This protocol requires the submission of cargo data for risk assessment before loading, enhancing supply chain security. Etihad Cargo has integrated PLACI standards into its operations, ensuring seamless operations for partners and customers.

The adoption of PLACI has gradually expanded globally, with Etihad Cargo being one of the first carriers to start live filing to ACAS. As the national carrier of the UAE, Etihad Cargo is fully committed to the successful implementation of the UAE’s PLACI initiative and has integrated UAE PLACI standards into its global operations.

Etihad Cargo’s proactive involvement in the pilot phase has allowed them to refine their processes and infrastructure to meet new requirements efficiently. The carrier ensures cargo is secured from acceptance through to loading and on arrival, with measures in place to maintain chain of custody, screen all cargo, provide proof of screening, and perform random checks.

Etihad Cargo’s Vice President Cargo, Stanislas Brun, emphasized their dedication to security and a proactive approach to compliance. They work closely with NAIC and other authorities to navigate these regulations effectively, ensuring partners and customers are informed and prepared. This initiative is part of Etihad Cargo’s ongoing efforts to enhance security protocols and streamline operations.
