DP World Expands Australian Operations with New Rail Service – Exciting Milestone Reached at Yennora Terminal

Sydney, Australia – May 20, 2024: DP World is expanding its Australian operations and launching a new rail service at Stockland’s Yennora Intermodal Terminal, one of the largest logistics facilities in the Southern Hemisphere.

A ribbon cutting ceremony was held at the Terminal with key attendees including Julia Finn, Member for Granville (NSW); Amna Al-Suwaidi, Deputy Head of Mission, Embassy of the United Arab Emirates in Australia; Nicolaj Noes, EVP, Oceania, DP World; Tarun Gupta, MD and CEO, Stockland; and Marika Calfas, CEO, NSW Ports.

The Yennora Intermodal Terminal will now offer two direct rail services to and from Port Botany per day on a DP World-owned rail line. The daily service is expected to handle 160,000 TEUs annually, improving efficiencies and reducing up to 160 truck trips per day.

This expansion allows DP World to offer a complete supply chain solution, enhancing cost efficiencies, decreasing transit times, and bolstering supply chain resilience.

Nicolaj Noes, EVP, Oceania, DP World, highlighted the benefits of the partnership with Stockland, while Tarun Gupta, MD and CEO, Stockland, expressed excitement about supporting DP World’s growth strategy in Australia.

Located west of Sydney’s CBD, Stockland’s Yennora Intermodal Terminal is a major distribution center in Oceania with vast warehouse space. In August 2023, DP World partnered with Stockland to operate a warehousing facility and dedicated rail service, positioning themselves as a leading integrated supply chain service provider in the region.
