“DHL Global Forwarding connects with Korean Air for direct bookings”
DHL Global Forwarding continues to expand its direct connections to airline partners’ booking systems by integrating with Korean Air. This marks the first time Korean Air has connected its booking system directly with a freight forwarder. The new Application Programming Interface (API) system allows DHL to make reservations directly from their CargoWise system, eliminating the need to access the airline’s platform.
Korean Air stated that this integration enhances workflow efficiency by enabling real-time data exchange between airlines and customers, making it easier to access flight schedules and air cargo rates. Senior vice president and head of the cargo business division at Korean Air, Jaedong Eum, expressed excitement about the partnership with DHL Global Forwarding and the opportunity to offer advanced services. He also mentioned the airline’s commitment to exploring innovative channels to enhance service offerings for a broader clientele.
Max Sauberschwarz, global head of airfreight at DHL Global Forwarding, highlighted the significance of the direct booking connection with Korean Air Cargo through CargoWise, noting that it streamlines internal processes and enhances efficiency for customers. This partnership is a testament to DHL’s dedication to delivering value in air freight and its ongoing digital journey.
Earlier this year, DHL also established connections with Cathay Cargo to provide real-time management of shipments on the airline’s Click & Ship booking platform. This continuous expansion of direct connections demonstrates DHL’s commitment to enhancing its service offerings and improving the customer experience in air freight logistics.
