“Davies Turner Opens State-of-the-Art Logistics Centre”
Davies Turner, a prominent freight forwarding and logistics company in the UK, has recently opened its seventh logistics fulfilment centre in Atherstone, located in the English Midlands. This new facility, spanning 140,000 sq ft, is fully Customs-bonded and equipped with advanced technology to cater to businesses looking to outsource their supply chain management needs.
The state-of-the-art hub boasts a high bay fully racked area, with a height of 15m and eaves reaching 17m, suitable for VNA forklift operations and offering 20,000 pallet locations. Additionally, the centre features four 35,000 sq ft mezzanine floors equipped with conveyors, barcode readers, and cameras for automation, catering to e-commerce and online retail logistics operations.
With 17 loading docks, two level access doors, and parking space for over 30 heavy goods vehicles, the facility’s strategic location near the M1 and M6 motorways further enhances its appeal. This latest investment underscores Davies Turner’s commitment to expanding its fulfilment services, following the success of its Avonmouth hub near Bristol in 2017.
Director Alan Williams highlighted the company’s ongoing investment in bespoke logistics fulfilment centres across the UK, as part of its growth strategy in the supply chain management sector. With a portfolio of warehousing and logistics properties exceeding one million square feet and facilities in key locations like Coleshill, Dartford, Heathrow, Glasgow, and Bristol, Davies Turner remains dedicated to meeting the evolving needs of its clients. The opening of the Atherstone centre signifies a milestone in the company’s continual expansion and commitment to delivering top-notch logistics solutions.
