Dachser Teams Up with myclimate and terre des hommes for Climate Action Collaboration of the Year

PRESS RELEASE

Kempten, March 18, 2024 – Dachser, myclimate, and terre des hommes have announced a long-term collaboration to launch new climate action projects worldwide and expand existing initiatives. The agreement was signed in December 2023.

The six-year collaboration between Dachser, myclimate, and terre des hommes focuses on two main areas: climate action projects certified by myclimate in South America, Africa, Asia, and Europe, and joint projects with terre des hommes supporting children and youth globally with an emphasis on climate action.

The steering committee, consisting of representatives from Dachser, myclimate, and terre des hommes, will oversee project selection and management. Bernhard Simon, Chairman of the Dachser Supervisory Board, states, “We aim to make a meaningful contribution to environmental and climate action. The collaboration with myclimate and terre des hommes provides a sustainable framework for our activities beyond corporate boundaries.”

Stefan Hohm, Chief Development Officer at Dachser, emphasizes active participation in shaping projects rather than focusing solely on CO2 credits. The collaboration with myclimate and terre des hommes aims to promote long-term climate action initiatives.

Projects in South America, Africa, Asia, and Europe are already in progress, with plans to expand existing concepts and develop new projects. Dachser will finance and contribute to project development, while myclimate and terre des hommes will manage the program and work with local partners to ensure sustainability and alignment with the UN’s Sustainable Development Goals.

Stefan Baumeister, Managing Director of myclimate Germany, highlights the importance of long-term collaboration for effective climate action projects. The collaboration will focus on community projects such as clean energy access, water supply, agriculture, food security, waste management, and e-mobility.

Dachser’s partnership with terre des hommes aims to support children and young people in the face of the climate crisis. Joshua Hofert, Executive Board Member at terre des hommes, emphasizes the right of every child to a healthy environment and the collaboration’s goal to make this a reality.

Overall, the collaboration between Dachser, myclimate, and terre des hommes seeks to address climate action and children’s rights through sustainable, impactful projects worldwide.
