CMA CGM Air Cargo Launches Transpacific Services

Damien Mazaudier, the CEO of CMA CGM Air Cargo, emphasized that forwarders trust their airline and the market already recognizes their neutrality. The transpacific services were recently launched by CMA’s airline after facing delays due to commercial deals with AF-KLM. The airline did not have enough aircraft at the time, but now with new aircraft coming in, the timing was right.

The transpacific route, starting with Hong Kong-Anchorage-Chicago-Seoul-Hong Kong, will not include sister companies Bolloré and Ceva Logistics. CMA’s priority lies with other clients on this route, and they aim to remain neutral in their approach.

Despite owning two large rivals, CMA CGM Group has gained trust from customers who appreciate the reliable and regular service provided by the airline. The ability to offer clients a one-stop shop through their shipping business has also been beneficial.

Currently operating two 777Fs and three A330Fs, CMA’s airline has more aircraft deliveries scheduled and has ordered eight A350Fs for the future. Atlas Air has been chosen to operate the transpacific services with new 777Fs.

Despite initial challenges faced by the airline, including high costs, they are focused on maintaining their current routes and serving their clients. The CEO emphasized the experienced team in key positions within the company and expressed confidence in their future success.
