“Canadian Police Crack Down on Gold Heist Gang – Six Arrested!”
It has been almost a year since Canada’s largest gold heist took place at Toronto Pearson Airport’s Cargo East terminal, where approximately C$22 million in gold and banknotes were stolen from a ULD. Recently, Canadian police made several arrests in connection to the heist, including six people (five in Canada and one in the US) and the seizure of numerous firearms. The police described the robbery as something that belonged in a Netflix series. The Guardian reported that the heist was made possible by the use of a genuine air waybill that was originally used for seafood a day prior. There is ongoing legal action between the airline and the armoured car company that handled the stolen items.
