Averitt Express Expands Nashville Presence
Averitt Express has recently opened a new distribution and fulfillment center near Nashville as part of their plan to expand and improve key facilities in the Middle Tennessee region. The new center in Lebanon, Tennessee, offers 280,000 square feet of enclosed freight storage space to support regional deliveries and nationwide transport.
In addition to the new center, renovations have been completed at Averitt’s Nashville service center. The upgraded facility now spans 42 acres and includes 510 truck parking spaces, 162 dock doors, and accommodations for 190 drivers and over 300 associates. The renovations include improvements to office and dock space, new restrooms, truck drive-through wash bays, and upgraded fuel bays.
Averitt has also relocated its On Tour Logistics (OTL) operation to a 90,000-square-foot warehouse, previously used for distribution and fulfillment in Lebanon. The OTL operation caters to the logistics needs of events and entertainment enterprises by providing secure storage and transportation for artists’ gear and production equipment.
Joe Paul Tackett, director of Averitt’s Nashville service center, emphasized the company’s commitment to its facilities as an investment in both their own network and their customers’ success. Averitt Express, based in Cookeville, Tennessee, operates with over 5,700 tractors, 13,000 trailers, and 85 locations nationwide. The company employs a team of more than 8,000 associates.
