“Air Canada Resumes Flights to Singapore after 30 Years with SATS Partnership”

Singapore, 4 April 2024 – Air Canada has announced that it has awarded a contract for passenger, ramp, and cargo handling to SATS in preparation for the resumption of flights to Singapore’s Changi International Airport after more than 30 years.

The airline will be operating four Boeing 787-9 flights per week between Vancouver and Singapore, with the inaugural flight scheduled for 4 April 2024. SATS, the current handler for all Star Alliance partners in Singapore, will provide seamless passenger and cargo connections for Air Canada beyond Singapore to other key airports in Southeast Asia. This new route will be the only non-stop service connecting Canada and Singapore.

In addition to the handling contract, Air Canada has extended its global partnership with SATS and its subsidiary, Worldwide Flight Services (WFS). Bob Chi, CEO of Gateway Services at SATS, expressed his delight in welcoming Air Canada back to Singapore and the expansion of their partnership into Southeast Asia. Chi emphasized the benefits that Air Canada and its customers will receive from the operational excellence and global network connectivity offered by SATS Group at Changi Airport. This new business win further solidifies the strong and longstanding relationship between SATS, WFS, and Air Canada.
